Not every plumbing job is a simple swap. Some of them require real problem-solving - the kind where you're working in tight quarters, removing siding, and crawling under a home just to get eyes on the issue. That was exactly the situation here.

The old galvanized line had seen better days. Galvanized pipe has a lifespan, and when it goes, it doesn't give you a lot of warning. Corrosion builds up on the inside, flow drops off, and eventually you've got a leak buried somewhere you can't easily reach. That's when a lot of plumbers pass on the job. We don't.

Getting to the failed section meant working from underneath the home and pulling back siding to open up access. It's not glamorous work, but it's the only way to do it right. Once we had a clean working area, we replaced the corroded section with new copper and made a solid, lasting connection using a quality fitting.

The difference between a quick patch and a proper repair is what happens five years from now. Galvanized pipe that's failing in one spot is usually failing in others nearby. We don't just fix what's visible - we take a hard look at what's around it and make sure the repair we leave behind is one you won't have to revisit anytime soon. That's what water leak detection and repair looks like when it's done with care.

If you've got an older home, low water pressure, or a leak that someone else told you was too difficult to access, that's exactly the kind of call we want to get. Hard access is just part of the job for us.
