Laundry room leaks are sneaky. They start small - a slow drip behind the washer, a little moisture on the floor - and before long you've got water damage, mold, or a full-blown mess on your hands. Most of the time, worn-out washing machine valves are the culprit.

That's exactly what we were dealing with here. The existing valves on this galvanized water line had seen better days, and the customer was already noticing signs of trouble. Rather than patch something that wasn't going to hold, we pulled the old valves and replaced them with a clean, solid setup that's built to last.

Working on galvanized lines takes a little extra care. The pipe itself is older material, so every connection point matters. We made sure the new brass valves were properly fitted and seated - no shortcuts. What you end up with is a reliable hot and cold supply that actually does its job without leaking down the wall or pooling behind your washer.

This kind of general residential plumbing repair is one of those things that's easy to put off, but really shouldn't be. The fix itself is straightforward. The damage from ignoring it is not. A solid valve replacement like this is a small investment compared to what water damage to floors, walls, and cabinetry can cost.

If something in your home is dripping, outdated, or just doesn't feel right - that's worth a call. Small plumbing issues rarely fix themselves, and catching them early is always the better move.
